WASHINGTON, DC — The Council for Professional Recognition, the nonprofit organization that supports early childhood education professionals and administers the Child Development Associate® (CDA) Credential, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members of the Governing Board.

Eric L. Davis. J.D, is a partner and co-founder of Lara & Davis LLP. He has significant litigation and trial experience in both federal and state courts. Davis represents individuals, companies, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions in a wide-range of business and real estate litigation matters. He also has an active probate and trust litigation practice. Davis is a member of the bar of the state of California and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern, and Southern Districts of California.

Bill West is a senior market leader and consultant in the assessment industry and brings his passion for developing trusted relationships and advancing lives to his role as Chief Credentialing Services Officer for Cornerstone Strategies. Throughout his career, West has helped associations and government agencies build resilient workforces through workforce skills and credentialing programs. He will bring this expertise and his understanding of credentials to his new role on the Council’s Board.

The Council’s CEO, Dr. Calvin Moore Jr., says, “We are thrilled to welcome Eric and Bill to our board of directors. As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, their unique expertise will be invaluable to our mission.
