Policy Spotlight

November 20, 2024

Haley Brush, the Council’s public policy and advocacy manager, recently met with rising champions of our field at the Early Educators Leadership Conference. They came from across the country and shared tales about how they are advancing the early learning field in communities, cities and states. “Hearing from them was empowering,” Haley recalled. “So many members of our profession are stepping up and speaking out on behalf of educators and children. Together, the voices of these advocates converged in a stirring appeal: Give us more resources, pathways and support so we can do more to drive change.”

You can join the Council in responding to this call for action. And there’s no better time than now. The recent election means new leadership, which brings new conversations and ideas for improving the early learning system. Whatever their political party, many candidates will be addressing child care issues raised during their campaigns. Let’s help our future lawmakers speak out for what’s right by informing them of meaningful ways to improve our field—and hold them accountable for promises made while on the campaign trail.
