“The Council sets the standard for high-quality early care and education. Educators who do the hard work to earn a CDA® gain a grasp of real-world practice and theory that makes them feel accomplished and prepared to serve children.”

Shared experiences and passions enrich our lives, according to Larissa Norris. She knows we can make great things happen when we empathize with other people and care sincerely about what they need. This conviction makes Larissa a firm advocate for neurodivergent people, and her passion for supporting them is infectious. She’s thrilled that her colleagues at the Council share her sense of drive to ensure all children, whatever their diverse needs, have access to high-quality early learning. “We all embrace the mission to provide children with qualified, competent teachers since children are our future,” Larissa points out. And she’s prepared to give her all to help them advance.

Serving young learners takes patience and commitment, traits Larissa also showed by earning an M.Ed. in learning design and technology last year. This achievement has enhanced Larissa’s gift for designing content that appeals to diverse learners. She also brings her talent for engaging others to local theater productions, where she plays a role both on stage and behind the scenes. Larissa enjoys the applause she receives while performing, and she also loves the warm reception she gets when she goes home to her three pets: a Boston Terrier named Yoshi, a Pit/Husky mix named Laszlo, and a long-haired kitty named Ivy. The experiences that Larissa shares with these beloved pets make her full, busy life even richer.
